 LOTS OF FUN AND LOTS OF TENNIS was enjoyed by all during this year’s GTC Junior Championships – with 52 children participating (up from about 30 last year)!

The tennis was played over 2 weekends this year on Saturday May 20^th and on Saturday 27^th and Sunday 28^th May  with a 50^th Jubilee French themed (in honour of the French Open) Kids Fun Day including sausage sizzle and more tennis.

Like last year’s championships, the format was 'Round Robin' in age groups, so all children got plenty of tennis as well as a chance to put game rules into practise, help umpire, ball-boy and cheer on their friends.

There was an impressive display of tennis across all age groups and a lovely level of good humour and sportsmanship from everyone involved. Experienced and novice players alike seemed to really enjoy themselves.

Thank you to everyone who entered and brought their children and helped to umpire and support. We hope that all the kids and more return next year.
